We may all still be feeling the effects of the recession, but at least one thing doesn’t change: Membership rates for this season are the same as last year’s for the third year running (at least!). If you’ve mislaid the e-mail from last year, it’s below.

INJURY

Should a player be unable to train and play because of injury (or other reasons e.g. pregnancy), then they should stop their payments from the next month onwards. For example, if I get injured at any point in January, then I will make my January payment but will stop paying from February onwards.

The membership fee is non-refundable.

PLEASE NOTE: It is each player’s responsibility to monitor their payments, not the club’s or the Treasurer’s.

Indoor training

Training ramps up a gear now. With the summer quickly closing in on us, details of indoor training are below.

BVA (team training) Loddon Valley 7.30-9.30pm from Tuesday 14th September. An alternative venue is still under discussion and this may happen after Christmas.

Juniors training 7.15 – 8.15 Kendrick School from Monday 6th september – 18th april 2011

Club night 8.15 -10.15 Kendrick School from Monday 6th september – 18th april 2011

NVL Ladies ( by invitation) Bradfield wednesday 8-10pm from wednesday 25th August – 13th april 2011

Membership rates for this season will be confirmed very soon.

As it’s been raining pretty much non-stop for the last few hours and doesn’t
show any immediate likelihood of drying out, training tonight is off.

Apologies to all, hopefully we can have some tomorrow if the weather improves.

Social event for September!

Hello Party People!

This will be the first of many social events in the season’s calendar…

To celebrate the transition from outdoor to indoor we’ll be hosting a picnic at Dinton Pastures on Sunday 5th September at 1pm. I’m still checking as to whether we can do BBQs there (I think we can, from memory) but if you want to come, meet in the main car park (off Davis Street near the Sainsbury’s at Winnersh) and then we can find somewhere handy to pitch camp.

Following on from Vanda Scholey’s success last year, another Reading Aces player has ended the season with the prestigious Award – Congratulations to team captain Christine Brown who is the joint winner of the W3W MVP Award!

She will be presented her Award at Volleyball England’s Annual Dinner, held at the Whitefield tournament in Bath on Saturday 24th July 2010. If you are playing at Bath, please come along and cheer!

Outdoor volleyball

We had our 1st outdoor session of the year and it was very successful. Thanks to everyone who came down.
